8.5 x 11 Lithogaphy Print

Originally created as a lithography print and readapted onto wood, using woodturning.

Drawing project to make an interior inside a box. I used an old tobacco box from my grandparents and recreated my grandfather’s loft. This project uses multiple elements of the senses including hearing, sight, and smell. There is a music box on the side of the box that the viewer can play and hear “You are my Sunshine.” This song is one my grandfather used to sing to me when I was younger. The viewer can visually see the elements. The box includes the scent of moth balls and tobacco, to recreate the smell of my grandparents house.

This project was to create something based off of a world problem you are passionate about. I chose mental health and medicine. I recreated a typical American plate of good using various pills. My message in this piece is to show how great of a pill problem we have the the U.S.A. Pills are handed out like candy and the real problems are never addressed.
